Domain hosting

To host your website with Grapevine you will need to own a domain name, such as yourbusiness.com.au, people use this to locate and access your website.

"I already own a domain name"

If you already own a domain name and are able to transfer it to Grapevine, please do the following.

Once you’re on the plan page, select option "Web hosting only" to proceed to the Grapevine web hosting sign-up page.

"I need to register/transfer a domain name"

If you require Grapevine to register or transfer a domain name on your behalf, please do the following.

Once you’re on the plan page, select the appropriate (second or third) option to proceed to the Grapevine web hosting sign-up page.

Registration of a domain (yourcompany.com.au or yourcompany.net.au) usually takes one to two days to complete.

"I just want to buy a domain name."

You can purchase a domain (for example www.yourbusiness.com.au) without the hosting component of the product.

Please note: If you require access to emails through your domain, your domain must be bundled with a hosting package.

When housing your website at Grapevine it's your choice whether we register a new domain name for you, transfer your existing domain name, or if you redirect your existing domain by yourself.

Technical details

All Grapevine web hosting plans are housed on Linux-based servers

PHP 4.3.10 and PERL 5.8.4 support.
MySQL4 and PostgresSQL7.4.7 database support.
Secure control panel site management including:
- Database web manager
- Subdomain manager
- Webuser manager
- DNS manager.
Monitor bandwidth by traffic type: http, pop3, SMTP, IMAP and FTP.
Create protected directories, and assign users to them.
Upload and manage site files using File-Manager program or FTP.
Analyze web logs via Webalizer.
Access to live web log files.
Custom error documents.
