4.1  What are the Grapevine terms and conditions?

These are the terms and conditions that you agree to when you sign up as a Grapevine customer. You must carefully read and agree to the Grapevine terms and conditions before signing up or using Grapevine.

4.2  Included plan features

Grapevine national network ADSL plans come with:

Five free email addresses

As part of your broadband plan you’ll get five free 20MB email accounts. If you’d like to purchase additional email accounts for a small fee per email address.

Free anti-spam and anti-virus email filtering service

Slam spam and viruses with Grapevine’s anti-spam and anti-virus email filtering service, which will automatically check all of your incoming emails and help protect your computer.

Usage alerts via SMS

You can select to receive usage notifications via SMS so you can monitor your download usage to avoid your connection speed being shaped. These notifications will be sent to a nominated mobile number. You will be required to provide this number at time of sign-up to activate this service. We'll notify you when your estimated usage reaches 70% of your monthly download limit – so you can monitor your usage.

4.3  What are the benefits of Grapevine ISP plans on the National network?

Grapevine's new plans provide:

  • greater savings across all plans
  • a wide variety of shaped plans for you to choose from
  • a range of contract options to suit your needs.

4.4  How do National Network plans work?

You can download as much as you like, whenever you like, up to the monthly limit provided. Once you reach the monthly download limit, you can continue to download but your connection speed will be slowed to 72kbps.

4.5  How can I tell if my connection speed has been shaped?

You can check you service status in the Account Manager portal. To access it, please log in, click on ‘Services’, and then the relevant service name.

You can also test the speed of your broadband connection by visiting http://speedtest.net and choosing the server that is closest to you.

4.6  How can I upgrade to a new Grapevine broadband plan?

For just $29, you can upgrade your current broadband plan. Please call 13 35 00 (option 1) to speak to our sales team.

4.7  Am I able to use my own modem/router with national network plans?

Yes you are. If you already have an ADSL compatible modem/router then you will be able to use it on our national network.

4.8  How do I set up my own modem to work with national network plans?

Please refer to the instruction manual supplied with your modem/router. Otherwise, you may need to contact your modem/router supplier.

4.9  What DNS (Domain Name Server) settings should I use?

Your DNS settings should be set to automatically retrieve the DNS information after connecting.

4.10  Can I get a static IP address with Grapevine broadband?

If you are on a residential plan and you have not requested a static IP address, your IP address can change on a regular basis. Static IPs can be added to residential accounts for $29, then $2.20/month.

4.11  What is the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)?

Grapevine’s AUP provides information on what your internet connection can and can’t be used for. You can find our AUP here.
